Women’s Fellowship Ministry Volunteer Opportunity – Veteran’s Poppy Flowers

The poem In Flanders Fields inspired the wearing of poppy flowers to commemorate the dead in WWI. We commemorate our veterans each Veteran’s Day in November by also wearing poppies. Help us to remember and uplift our Veterans this Fall. The Women’s Group at TCC will gather for a creative activity to honor our Meals on Wheels Veterans.
We will make poppies out of red tissue paper and environmentally friendly vases. We will write uplifting messages on cards. The cards and flowers will be delivered in November with meals to about 65 Veterans in the surrounding areas.
