Pastor Matt Shapton

Pastor Matt Shapton, a seasoned pastor and former Master Electrician and Building Contractor, brings a unique journey and passion to The Community Church in Babcock Ranch, Florida. A Michigan native, he served in the U.S. Navy before responding to a new calling as a “second-career Pastor.” Ordained in 2020 by the Florida-Bahamas Synod of the ELCA, Pastor Matt’s ministry emphasizes Creation Care, fostering sustainability and ecumenical relationships. He holds a Masters Degree in Divinity with a concentration in Mission Development from Wartburg Theological Seminary. Pastor Matt envisions a collective human family, emphasizing the joy of life lived together. Join us at The Community Church, where Pastor Matt leads our growing faith community, promoting inclusivity through activities like Music, Faith Formation, Small Groups, Care and Outreach, and Special Events.
