“By Heart” Study Week One

We are opening our time together in the “by heart” study on week one with “The Story of the Small Catechism”. Our first session will be chapter one, pages 17 through 42 of your textbooks. There are three focuses in “By Heart”, they are:

1. Scriptures and Tradition.
2. Luther’s Explanations.
3. The “backstory”.

We will begin with prayer, then we will recite a portion of the Small Catechism (pages 207- 222 of your textbook), then we will watch a short video, followed by small group discussion and teaching.

On our first week we will recite together the 10 commandments and Luther’s explanations (210 – 212)
